Generous Donation from David Douglas Education Association
Since our last distribution to the food banks in June, DDEF collected an additional $755.10, to which was added a generous $4,000 DDEA donation. A total of $4,755.10 was distributed to the 4 food banks currently giving out food boxes to DDSD families.
Earlier this month we received a very generous donation of $4,000 from the David Douglas Education Association (DDEA) to help support our efforts in providing the families in our district with access to food during the COVID-19 pandemic. Phill Hurley, DDEA Treasurer and Julie Talley, DDEA President, wanted to ensure that DDEA, our local teachers union, was supporting our students and families during this crisis. The money collected by DDEA from the teachers would normally have been used for events that have been cancelled due to COVID-19 and we are very thankful that they choose to donate those funds to us instead this year!
