Additional Ways to Support Your District

Cash and Material Donations

Cash and material donations can be made to the David Douglas Educational Foundation through the District’s Special Projects Office. Just call the Special Projects Office at 503-261-8204 to discuss donations.

Checks should be made check payable to DDEF and sent to DDEF, Special Projects Office, 11300 NE Halsey, Portland, Oregon 97220.

If you wish to designate a special area of interest for your donation, make a notation on your check (ie, Kids Fund, Opportunity Grant, music, etc).

Donate School Supplies

Each year do you wonder what to do with your extra school supplies? Do you see terrific deals on crayons? Well, you can donate them through DDEF; just bag them up and turn them into the Special Projects Office at the District Office (11300 NE Halsey).

Some commonly needed supplies are: pencils, pens, colored pencils, crayons, scissors, rulers, index cards, spiral notebooks, glue sticks, baby wipes, facial tissues, backpacks, etc. To stretch your donation dollars, watch for early school supply sales.

For more information on supplies needed, see the “School Supply List” section on your neighborhood school’s website found on the District website, or contact Special Projects at 503.261.8204.

Help a student play a musical instrument!

Donate your no longer used musical instrument to DDEF and it will be used as a loaner instrument played by music students year after year!

Drop the instrument off, or we may be able to arrange pick up of your donation:

1. Between 8:00 am and 4:00 p.m., bring your donation to: David Douglas District Office, Special Projects Office, 11300 NE Halsey, Portland, Oregon

2. Or contact Bev Fischer, 503-255-1149 for instrument pickup.

Your donation may be tax deductible!  A tax-deductible receipt is available at the office. Fill it in with your name and address, description of the donated item and an estimated value. To increase your tax-deductible donation, have the instrument serviced or repaired prior to the donation.  We can sign and provide you with a copy of the receipt. Thank you for your generosity!
