Jo Carney

Secretary, Investment Committee

Jo Carney has been active in the David Douglas Educational Foundation since 2007, initially serving as a member of the Foundation’s Investment Committee. In 2009, she became a Foundation Board Member and currently serves as the Foundation’s Secretary, a member of the Investment Committee, and serves as a Scholarship reader each Spring.

Jo obtained two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Oregon State University. After moving to Portland in 1983, Jo worked for PGE as an Analyst, retiring in 2014 after 30 years of service.

Jo and her family moved into the David Douglas School District in 1987. Her four children attended David Douglas schools and all graduated from David Douglas High School. During those years, Jo was active in the PTA, helped with various sports-related fundraisers and activities, and served on the School District Budget Committee for several years. She is glad to continue being involved in the Foundation so that she may support its goals of enhancing educational opportunities for the district’s students.
